State Parliament Leaders Morning Tea

On Friday the 25th of October our two captains Skye and Owen and two vice captains Cathy and Cameron were invited to State Parliament house for a morning tea with Mike Baird. They met there with leaders from other local primary schools. After taking time to sit in both houses of the parliament getting the time to ask questions of Mike about the running of State Parliament they had morning tea in the Speaker's personal garden.

The children were then asked to come up with a bill they would like to pass through Parliament to become a law. They had 20 minutes to plan their arguments in the school groups. Our four representatives did us proud receiving a special mention for their idea of creating a three day weekend by removing Mondays from the working week.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to spend some time in Parliament and meet other young leaders from local schools. They were brilliantly behaved as always and looked most splendid in the red blazers. Well done to the four of them.
