Manly Vale Lunchtime Garbage Audit

THIS IS GARBAGE!

 On Thursday 10^th May 6D did an audit of one day's recess and lunch waste, searching through the bins from around the school. We found 2.2kg of garbage, 8kg of recyclables and 12.4kg of compost. That's a total of 22.6kg. 89% of the items we put in the bin didn't need to be there.

ONLY 11% WAS ACTUAL GARBAGE!

 The school will hold a waste free day in week 8 and then year 6 will conduct another audit of the garbage that day to see if we have improved. We will update the school with the results. Next week we will have an article in the school newsletter and on the website with ideas on how to pack a waste free lunch. Thanks to 6D for rummaging through the garbage and thanks for everyone's support.
